Blog Entry #5 Saturday September 6 to Sunday September 7, 2014 – Bar Harbor to Portsmouth

The morning of Saturday, September 6th we loaded up the Jeep and left our mid- 50’s Bar Harbor motel for the trek to Portsmouth, NH for the start of the Antique Automobile Club of America Sentimental Tour for southern Maine and Northern New Hampshire. Wanting to make some side trips to the coastal towns on the journey to Portsmouth, we elected to make it a two-day journey; having a picnic lunch on Stonington, ME at the southern tip of an island off the mainland and spending an evening in Boothbay Harbor, ME at the southern tip of the mainland peninsula.

Picnic Lunch in Stonington Maine

We attended Mass at the Catholic Church in Boothbay Harbor on Sunday, September 7, 2014; packed the Jeep and continued the journey to Portsmouth, NH. After a picnic lunch in a state park outside of Portsmouth we arrived at the host hotel in time to visit nearby Red Hook Brewery for a tour and catered dinner. Looking over the Sentimental Tour guide, it looked like we were in for a well-planned week of interesting attractions and events.
